„Coup de coeur” (Pinard de Picard)

THE NEW BORDEAUX (Jane Anson): „This is fast becoming known as ‘the cheapest Pontet Canet you can buy’ (because its consultant is Jean-Michel Comme). It has an earthy nose, and a real terroir feel, together with sparkling fruit. It´s good, well balanced, with heat from the alcohol that warms but doesn’t bite. 37% merlot, 48% cabernet savignon, 11% cabernet franc, 4% petit verdot, aged in 20% new oak (the rest one year old barrels). Made all the more poignant of course by the fact that owner Lorraine Cordier died just a few weeks after these tastings. 92-93 Punkte, 2017-2030.”

WINESPECTATOR: „Still compact, with a very briary, juicy core of plum, dark currant and braised fig, followed by a roasted tobacco edge on the finish. Offers lively acidity. Should unwind nicely. 89-92 Punkte.”

DECANTER: „Deep, compact yet complex flavours, a very elegant southern Haut-Médoc with a good future. 16,5 Punkte und ****, zu trinken 2014-2022.”
