Der WEINWISSER lobt: „Recht dichtes Weinrot, dunkel rubiner Schimmer darin. Fein röstiges, konzentriertes Bouquet, direkte Frucht, nach roten Kirschen duftend. Aromatischer Gaumen, recht feine Gerbstoffe, eine schöne Süsse ausstrahlend, Reserven zeigend, zu den besseren Weinen gehörend. 17/20 Punkten. Zu genießen 2013-2024”

Auch Parker ist begeistert: „A blend of equal parts Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, the 2006 Rollan de By performs well above its humble pedigree, exhibiting a dense white chocolate character interwoven with notions of black currants, cedar, and spice. Medium to fullbodied with abundant fruit and flesh as well as supple, silky tannin in the finish, it should drink well for 10-15 years. Proprietor Jean Guyon marches to the beat of different drummer. He has brought in the renowned winemaking consultant, Dr. Alain Raynaud, to oversee the production of these two cuvees, which are always among the finest wines of the Medoc. They compete favorably with their classified growth brethren, even though they sell at a fraction of the price. 88-90 Punkte.”
